I humbly seek your support of my candidacy for National Second Vice President of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

As the current Washington, D.C. State Facilitator, I have gained firsthand experience in connecting with sorors in collegiate chapters, working to secure funding for collegiate initiatives, and ensuring that collegiate sorors are supported to thrive. This has enhanced my ability to communicate across multiple levels of the Sorority, collaborating with collegiate and alumnae sorors to implement strategic initiatives.

I have deepened my understanding of the unique challenges that collegiate members face, making me well-equipped to offer guidance, advocate for resources, and drive meaningful engagement at the national level.

Meeting current and past leaders continually reminds me that collegiate sorors are not just preparing to lead – we are leading now. We are poised to make an impact now, and as National Second Vice President, I am committed to ensuring that every collegiate soror has the opportunities necessary to do just that while honoring their lifetime commitment to serve on their college campuses and beyond.

With a strong foundation in leadership, advocacy, and strategic planning, I am ready to serve. I bring vision, experience, and an unwavering dedication to Delta Sigma Theta. Together, we will continue the legacy of the Sorority, ensuring that we’ve got N.E.X.T.

Sisterly,

Courtney A. Wilborn
Candidate, National Second Vice President

WHAT SORORS ARE SAYING...

Courtney and I share a lifelong sisterhood that began long before we became Deltas. We grew up together in Philadelphia —worshipping at the same church and serving in various youth ministries together. We also built bonds through Jack and Jill of America, and have cheered each other on as we developed into young women rooted in faith, service, and excellence. I have had the pleasure of seeing Courtney make an impact as a member of the Eastern Region leadership team. I enjoyed seeing her...

We grew up together in Philadelphia—worshipping at the same church and serving in various youth ministries together. We also built bonds through Jack and Jill of America, and have cheered each other on as we developed into young women rooted in faith, service, and excellence.  I have had the pleasure of seeing Courtney make an impact as a member of the Eastern Region leadership team. I enjoyed seeing her thoughtfully engage with our fellow collegiate sorors at the Eastern Regional Conference last August and have witnessed her lead in Alpha Chapter and be a supportive soror as the Washington, D.C. State Facilitator. Courtney is passionate about empowering collegiate members—not just in words, but in action. She has made herself available to offer guidance, develop meaningful connections, and offer genuine support. She leads with intentionality, ensuring that every soror— regardless of chapter —feels heard, valued, and prepared to thrive. Soror Courtney Wilborn embodies what leadership in Delta is all about. I am proud to call her my friend and my Soror, and I offer my full support for her candidacy as National Second Vice President. With Courtney, our collegiate members will be in capable, caring, and visionary hands.

Courtney and I first met during our freshman year at Howard University, where we quickly bonded over our shared values, our interest in Delta Sigma Theta, and our dreams of making a difference if given the opportunity to become members of the organization. What makes Courtney special isn’t just her impressive résumé or the titles she holds —it’s the way she shows up for people. I’ve watched her truly be there for our linesisters, offer guidance to our new initiates, create space for honest conversations...

What makes Courtney special isn’t just her impressive résumé or the titles she holds—it’s the way she shows up for people. I’ve watched her truly be there for our linesisters, offer guidance to our new initiates, create space for honest conversations with collegiate sorors in Washington, D.C., and bring thoughtful energy and clear direction to every project she touches. As Washington, D.C. State Facilitator, she has remained grounded, accessible, and committed to ensuring that every collegiate soror in our city feels valued. Courtney brings integrity, clarity, and compassion to every role she takes on, and her love for our sisterhood is unwavering. Whether she’s leading a chapter activity, speaking at an event for another chapter or simply encouraging a soror dealing with a personal matter, she leads with grace and intention. I am proud to call Courtney my line sister and my friend, and I am even prouder to offer my full support for her candidacy as National Second Vice President.

I have known Courtney since she was born as her mother served with me in the Philadelphia Alumnae Chapter. It was not unusual to see her in a car seat or stroller at committee meetings and, as she grew older, she was present at service projects and other open activities held by the chapter. So, I wasn’t surprised when she reached out for guidance in preparation to lead the Alpha Chapter Rededication Ceremony. From the very beginning of our conversation, it was clear that Courtney possessed a deep reverence...

So, I wasn’t surprised when she reached out for guidance in preparation to lead the Alpha Chapter Rededication Ceremony. From the very beginning of our conversation, it was clear that Courtney possessed a deep reverence for the traditions of our Sisterhood. Her thoughtful questions, attention to detail, and sincere desire to ensure the ceremony was both beautiful and dignified moved me tremendously. Soror Courtney approached the responsibility not as a task, but as an honor - and it showed. She understood that Ritual is not just a reflection of who we are, but a powerful connector to the legacy of our 22 illustrious Founders. As a collegiate leader, Soror Courtney exemplifies what it means to be rooted in tradition while reaching forward with vision and purpose. She leads with poise, prepares with excellence, and inspires with authenticity. I have no doubt that she will bring these same qualities to the national level as our National Second Vice President. Soror Courtney is ready and our Sisterhood will be better for her leadership.
