Courtney A. Wilborn is a junior Finance major at Howard University.

On April 7, 2024, she was initiated into Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. through Alpha Chapter as a member of the Effervescent 50. She is, currently, the Treasurer of Alpha Chapter and, in September 2024, was appointed by Eastern Regional Director Dr. Marie-Carmel Durandisse-Pressley to serve as the Washington, D.C. State Facilitator.  In this role, she supports Eastern Regional Representative Amina Cuascut with developing and implementing strategies to increase participation, and encourage engagement amongst collegiate sorors.

Born in Philadelphia, PA and raised in Abington, PA, Courtney graduated with honors from Abington Senior High School in June 2022. While at Abington Senior High School, Courtney was a well-respected and engaged student leader.  She was a four-year member of the Varsity Cheer Team, serving as Tri-Captain her senior year. She was also a member of the National Honor Society and the Track Team. Outside of school, Courtney’s commitment to service was evident through her work with the Montgomery County, PA Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc., where she served as Historian and Secretary of the Crown Jewels teen group, and Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church, where she served in several ministries. She was an assistant with the Genesis Sunday School Ministry, a Pulpit Youth Leader, a Bible Zone leader, and a regular member of the Pastor’s Honor Roll, a quarterly presentation highlighting high school students who earned all A’s and B’s on their report cards. In June 2022, Courtney was awarded one of two prestigious Enon Community Reinvestment Scholarships, a $20,000 award used to support her first year at Howard University.

Since arriving at Howard, Courtney has been a very active student. In 2023, she was invited to join B.E.S.T. (Beautiful, Empathetic, Sisters, Together) You Programming, an organization that provides female students with opportunities to mentor local elementary students. In 2024, she was elected to serve as president of the chapter and has managed the organization’s growth by establishing chapters on the campuses of Florida A&M University and Morgan State University. As a freshman, she was selected for the highly-competitive Howard University 1867 Assistantship Program, which offers students the opportunity to support Howard University leadership at key special events, including Opening Convocation, Charter Day and Commencement.

Since being at Howard, Courtney has secured internships in each of her three years. As a freshman, she was awarded an internship as a Financial Analyst with the Boeing Co. in Missouri. As a sophomore, spent a summer in New York  as a Global Corporate Banking Fellow with JP Morgan Chase & Co.; and this summer, she’ll be working as a financial intern with Dell Technologies in Texas.

Courtney is a huge football fan and has been a die-hard Philadelphia Eagles fan since she was a little girl. She is also a member of the Beyhive and has attended two Beyonce concerts. In her spare time, Courtney enjoys babysitting, hanging out with her friends and spending time with her family – her mother Monica, also a soror; father Courtney, a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.; and her younger brother, Evan.
